Pick to Light & Put to Light (PTL)

Order sorting systems have progressed in the last few decades; the ultimate goal has evidently always been to depend less on the human factor, make it more precise, more productive, and more visible. The first systems with a processing line were widely used, and still are; only that migration towards light-guided processing lines has become increasingly common; such migration requires eliminating the classic assortment list. The Pick to Light system allows orders to arrive from a server up to the assortment line where, by means of lighted displays, indicate in each position the amount of an item to be assorted. The operator then supplies such amount and confirms by means of a button. The system understands in real time and performs all corresponding updates to the inventory, indicating what must be re-assorted. The order then continues through the various stations until completion.

The efficiency of a Pick to Light, or PTL is substantially greater than a manual system, while also reducing the error ratio; it allows adapting to the staff turnover, avoids assortment lists, and allows managing all information, with its intrinsic advantages.
