Tow lines are floor conveyors driven by a robust chain, which allows towing multiple karts at one, over which the products to be transported are placed. Each kart may have different sizes and shapes according to the types of products to be transported. The tow line conveyor may be have very long lines, unlike the average conveyor, usually extended hundreds of meters long, and are employed for moving large items, random items, or heavy products.
We must keep in mind that tow line conveyors require a fixed installation, however, that allows the free flow of the forklift over the conveyor.
Their use is not only limited to the transportation, but may also classify cars for a specific door, and are also successfully employed in assembly operations.
It is possible to coordinate several floor conveyors to perform different operations or to ensure miles of conveyor. The continuous growth and evolution of the AGVS has taken part of the applications implemented decades ago on tow lines. However, there are specific operations where the two line conveyors are the best solution.
Tow line conveyors are equipment that require almost zero maintenance, are highly reliable, and have a long service life. Tow lines may be implemented both in assembly lines and in distribution centers.
